After selling my metal fabrication business to my son, I started on a long-time dream of learning how to make jewelry, not just any jewelry but southwestern styled jewelry. It all started by doing a little experimenting and checking out how to videos. It became clear that hands on instruction was going to be needed. I started with basic jewelry making classes and then moved into classes geared more for southwestern jewelry. I learned the methods of making the stamps for stamping the jewelry and the proper techniques for stamping. Then I got several great pointers from some very good Navajo silversmiths. Through hours of practice and lots of mistakes I finally feel comfortable in creating my one of a kind jewelry pieces. Everything I make is original and based on my concept of the traditional southwestern jewelry designs. I have also started to add in a few contemporary pieces by request to help round out my jewelry line.
